Shirling Kao (Director) RYT 200
Shirling received 200-hour hatha yoga teacher training with yogi vishvkatu in 2007 in Ottawa. In 2009, she finished kids and family yoga training with rainbow kids yoga in Toronto. Her warm and nourishing style of teaching creates space for students to explore their inner strength and peace, and cultivates a sense of calm and well-being. Originally from Taiwan, Shirling enjoys life in her newly found hometown, Sault Ste Marie.

Nancy (Stewart) Neave B.Ed., RYT 500
Nancy was trained in an 18 month intensive program with Allie Chisholm-Smith of Ahimsa Yoga Studio in Huntsville, Ontario, in the Scaravelli tradition of yoga. Nancy's students benefit from her strong training in this approach which emphasizes working from the ground, the breath, the spine, and teaching students to give the body space to move and heal. Nancy's classes are creative and well-informed. She is known for her encouragement, kindness, and ability to make students relax and feel at peace.
Ruth Koskenoja B.Ed, RYT 500
Ruth completed her teacher training in 2007 at Moksha Yoga with Ted Grand and Jess Robertson. She brings her gentle, easy-going and compassionate spirit to class. Her classes are infused with athletic, restorative and meditative elements. In fall 2009, Ruth studied restorative yoga with Judith Lasater, to learn the techniques which help to stimulate and balance the body during and after periods of stress, fatigue or illness.
Katie Campbell Belly Dance
Katie has been teaching belly dance since 2005. Her style is mainly Classic Egyptian infused with the folkloric style of the Roma. As her students progress in the classic art of Middle-Eastern dance, they learn to get in touch with their bodies and their overall fitness level improves. Katie believes that belly dance is a dance designed by women for women and is great for women of all shapes and ages. Katie continues to improve her skills by attending workshops and conferences across North America.
Lan Gao Yoga, Dance
Initially trained as a rhythmic gymnast and a classic Chinese dancer, Lan has profound awareness of how the life expresses itself through the movement of the body, breath and mind. She studied yoga at ShanghaiSportsUniversity where she got her B.A. and began to teach since 1998 as a certified instructor in China. She has been teaching yoga intensively in Toronto and Sault Ste Marie. Also as an award-winning radio broadcaster in China and Toronto, Lan committed herself into multicultural issues through dance performance and teaching Chinese language.
Allie Brawley RYT 200
Allie earned her 200-hour teacher training certification through Yoga Tree in San Francisco and she continues to learn from her teachers, fellow classmates, and students. Allie brings to the Sault her decade of yoga experience from New York, Boston and San Francisco, where she practiced a variety of styles, including Anusara, Hatha, Restorative, PranaVayu, Forrest, and Vinyasa yoga. Allie is pleased to serve the Sault Ste. Marie community with yoga classes to cater to a variety of levels. All of her classes are designed to be a challenging but playful experience, as she strives to help students develop a strong body, peaceful mind, and healthy spirit.
